Boeing Appoints Nyle Miyamoto to Lead Japan Engineering

NAGOYA, July 27, 2026 — Boeing (NYSE: BA) has appointed Nyle Miyamoto as director of Boeing Global Technology Japan (BGT–Japan). Based in Nagoya, Miyamoto will lead Boeing’s engineering organization in Japan and support the center’s technical capabilities, talent development, and partnerships across the region.

“We are pleased to appoint Nyle to this important role,” said Michael Edwards, vice president, Boeing Global Technology. “His broad engineering background and proven experience leading complex organizations will support BGT–Japan’s work ahead.”

Miyamoto has more than two decades of experience working with Boeing’s partners in Japan across major airplane development programs, product development initiatives and supplier collaboration.

“Nagoya is an important location for Boeing’s engineering and innovation work in Japan,” said Eric John, president of Boeing Japan. “BGT–Japan plays a key role in strengthening Boeing’s connections across Japan’s aerospace industry, and Nyle’s deep experience working with our partners, along with his technical background, will help support the center’s continued growth and success.”

Miyamoto brings more than 35 years of engineering and executive leadership experience across Boeing Commercial Airplanes. His background includes structures engineering, airplane and product development, systems and digital engineering, product lifecycle management, and advanced manufacturing. He has led large engineering organizations and supported multiple airplane development programs.

Most recently, Miyamoto served as senior director of Structures Engineering, overseeing nearly 1,200 engineers and technical professionals responsible for structural design, analysis, certification, and testing across Boeing Commercial Airplanes. He also led enterprise initiatives in model-based engineering, engineering tools and processes, and additive manufacturing adoption.

BGT–Japan plays an important role in Boeing’s global engineering ecosystem and in strengthening long-standing partnerships in Japan.
